Burj Al Arab is a luxurious hotel which is situated in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The name of this hotel in Arabic can be directly translated to ‘tower of the Arabs’. It is the only hotel in the world which has been given the ‘7-star’ rating and is the fifth tallest hotel in the entire world.

The shape of this hotel was designed in such a way that it ends up resembling the shape of a sail of a large ship. There is also a helipad near the roof of the hotel. And that helipad is situated at a height of around 689 ft. or 210 m above the ground.

It might be quite interesting to note that the area in front of the beach where Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab are located was previously known by the name of Miami Beach. It was named like this because of the fact that the land was previously occupied by the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company but was later reclaimed by the owners of both the hotels.

The Pyramid of Giza

The Pyramid of Giza was built 4500 years ago in Egypt, yet it remained as the tallest man-made building until the 19th century. That means it stood its place as the tallest building for 3800 years! This pyramid is one of the seven wonders of the world. It was built for Pharaoh Khufu of the eighth dynasty and constructed between 2580 and 2560 BC.

It contains chambers specially made for the king and queen, the Robbers’ Tunnel, a modern opening gate, the Grand Gallery, and a huge void deep inside the pyramid. Approximately 2.3 billion rocks were used to make this pyramid, but its precise dimensions are difficult to work out as they are in Egyptian units. There are not many other pyramids that are as intriguing as the Giza pyramid making it a favorite tourist destination.

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor in New York, in the United States. The copper statue, a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886.

The Statue of Liberty is a figure of Libertas, a robed Roman liberty goddess. She holds a torch above her head with her right hand, and in her left hand carries a tabula ansata inscribed in Roman numerals with "JULY IV MDCCLXXVI" (July 4, 1776), the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. A broken shackle and chain lie at her feet as she walks forward, commemorating the recent national abolition of slavery.[7] The statue became an icon of freedom and of the United States, and a national park tourism destination. It is a welcoming sight to immigrants arriving from abroad.

 Maldives

It is the world’s greatest island destination and has some of the finest resort hotels on earth, and such is the trendiness of the destination that every luxury chain in the world wants to be in the Maldives, so newer and better resorts open each season.

The point of the Maldives is that it is not a single large island but is, instead, a collection of thousands of tiny coral islands. A few are large enough to support an international airport (on one island) or a small town called Male (on another island) that serves as the capital of the Maldives. But most are tiny. A small clump of trees on a coral reef could constitute a single island. Most resorts are on islands that are a little larger, but all are self-contained: one island is one resort. Each island is surrounded by a lagoon of shallow water (though the Indian Ocean, with its deep blue water, lies beyond). It is the clearest water you will ever see. You can look down and see every pebble at the bottom of the sea.

The Maldives is a paradise for snorkelling, diving and the like. Others go for the sense of isolation. There are few places in the world where your hotel takes over an entire island. And some, of course, go for the luxury, because resorts in the Maldives are at the cutting edge of modern luxury.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. On March 31, 1889, the Eiffel Tower opened to the public. To mark the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution, Paris hosted the 1889 World’s Fair (Exposition Universelle). Hoping to be considered for the high-profile project, artists from around the nation sent in plans for a structure to mark the entrance to the fair on the Champ-de-Mars, a public greenspace in the center of Paris.

Three hundred steel workers spent two years, two months and five days, from 1887 to 1889, constructing the Tower. They used more than 18,000 individual metallic parts, 2.5 million rivets, and 40 tons of paint.

For 41 years, the Eiffel Tower stood higher than any building or structure in the world—until it was surpassed by the Chrysler Building in New York, which topped out at 1046 feet. Just a year later the Empire State Building became the tallest in the world at 1454 feet with the spire. In 1957 an antenna was added that increased the Tower’s height by 67 feet, making it 6 feet taller than the Chrysler Building.

The statue of Nelson Mandela

The statue of Nelson Mandela is a large bronze sculpture of the former President of South Africa and anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela, located in Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg.

A six-meter-high statue of Mandela was unveiled at the ceremony to rename the square. It is attached to the large Sandton City shopping centre, together forming one of the largest retail complexes on the continent with over 400 stores. Prior to the statue's unveiling, the square had been named Sandton Square after the surrounding area of Sandton. The square was officially renamed Nelson Mandela Square on March 31, 2004. Sandton City, the largest retail complex in Africa, lies behind the statue.

The statue stands 6 metres (20 ft) high and measures 2.3 metres (7 ft 7 in) from elbow to elbow. The statue weighs 2.5 tons. It has been described as "towering", "imposing", and a "focal point" for the entire area.

The statue depicts Mandela wearing his Madiba shirt and dancing in what was referred to at the unveiling as the "Madiba jive". Basetsana Kumalo, the master of ceremonies at the statue's unveiling, said that it was a very happy statue. The dancing stance pays tribute to the spirit of joy and celebration inherent in the people of South Africa.
